What is the film about?
The film was inspired from a story which most people have been through. We began with the idea of social networks and how they influence certain situations in real life. This is were we created our idea of online dating and finding someone online. We thought that would also be to basic so we had to add a humourous element to it. This is were we thought of the 'Catfish' idea. This is were people disguise there facebook profiles with photos of other people which they use to mislead the opposite sex. We thought this would be a great idea because every person in our group could relate to this topic because we've all come across it in our life.
The film starts off with the lead role name Seff who is on facebook going through his news feed when he notices a attractive girl has messaged him. He begins to talk to her continuously only to grow more and more feelings towards her. He then is interviewed about this girl that he's met and he passionatly talks about her telling the audience how much affection he has for her and how that one day he's going to make her his wife. They both decided to meet in the local park for the first time were he hopes something will develop with this mysterious women he's been talking to for a while. Rushed with adrenline he searches for her though out park only to notice someone across the park from him. Due to the distance between him and her he finds her difficult to recognise her. He begins to slowly approach this girl only to notice she had lied to him about her looks. He was left feeling disappointed and gutted about the whole time he was talking to her. He then tries to hide from her making sure she doesn't notice him. She walks past him were he slowly watches as she walks past. He notices her walking away from so he decides to run in the opposite direction.
Target Audience:
The targeted audience we intended was teenagers between the ages 14-19. This is because we wanted to create a story that could be related to people who were our age because at this age people tend 'Catfish' their profile. We made sure we could aim at this audience by adding characters who were around the age of 16-19 and created a script that was easy to relate to. Words and dialogues used are easily related to because most people say most of it in their everyday slang.
The group:
We worked well as a group. My usual partner Marian who is a great team member being very creative and ambitious to try new things allows our group to broden ideas and create something that is unique. This time round we had a new addition to our group who was samsia. She gave us a new approach to filming. Due to the fact she wasn't used to the way me and Marian worked she adapted herself to help in very stick situations plus she put in 100% when it came to writing up the pre-production. Roles within the group were designated. Marian was set out to get all the clips for the film. Samsia was left with the pre-production planning and i was left with the editing. Input was put into every section from all us such as different camera angles that we needed were adviced to Marian. Help was given to Samsia with props, characters and locations and group discussions were held when we came to editing the film. We always talked about what clips were going to go in and what types of soundtracks we would use. The only problem we had was the absenses
